Making the call to give Odyssey Fitness a try was the best decision made for myself in years! As an over-50 woman starting to feel my age, I decided to re-start a fitness routine after 15 years out of practice.
I wanted an experienced trainer(s), that would focus on my personal goals of getting stronger, more agile, and leaner. I took advantage of their free introductory sessions, and immediately knew this was the place for me. Ethan and his team at Odyssey Fitness are amazing experienced trainers who genuinely care about their clients’ success.

Before finding Odyssey Fitness, I could never find a program that worked for me. I could lose a ton of weight on crash diets and workout routines but once the diet ended or the workouts got boring, I just gained back all lost weight and then some. Earlier this year I had reach my highest weight ever and just felt tired and worn out all the time.
I learned about Odyssey Fitness from a good friend. I read Ethan’s description of his program and who it is for on the website and it was like he wrote it just for me because it described exactly where I felt I was and what I wanted. The small group workouts are setup for me and where I am in my progression, they are varied enough that they don’t get boring and the people in the groups are fun to be around and workout with. I used to run 10k events and was fit but then diagnosed with osteoarthritis in my late 30s. At that point I struggled as I could not longer run, which I loved, and felt discouraged. Fast forward to my 40s and I went to the local gym to only use the elliptical and some easy weight machines. I did not know how to safely push myself in my workouts.
I saw an ad for Odyssey Fitness in my mid-40s and it was exactly what I needed. In my workouts with Ethan and his team, I feel stronger than ever and very encouraged. I am learning new exercises and look forward to my workout sessions. I am part of a small group class and feel that the trainers are very attentive to my personal physical issues and safely push me in a way that has built up my confidence that I can do this even though I have a medical diagnosis. In Sept 2022, I decided it was time to restart my fitness routine after pausing during the Covid years. After looking around at a few options, I found Odyssey with Ethan and Lizzie. They offered free introductory sessions and evaluation, that I took advantage of. 1.5yrs later, I am stronger and leaner than I’ve ever been! Before trying Odyssey Fitness, I struggled to start or maintain any kind of exercise. My best intentions didn't turn into regular workout plans. I found myself becoming more weak and achy.
As I age, I want to keep as much strength and stamina as possible. Lizzie and Ethan are awesome to work with! I am so much stronger now. They listened to my goals, slowly and steadily help me increase in what I'm able to do and are very attentive to any health changes. There's no pressure and no judging! I never thought I'd go to a gym, but Odyssey Fitness is great, especially for us older folks!
